vedetta

vedetta is how an agent reads the public internet here. Zero dependencies, no credentials, no installer, no update command.

Terminal window
vedetta search "prompt injection defences"
vedetta repo owner/name
vedetta npm mcporter # → has_install_scripts: false
vedetta yt "https://youtu.be/VIDEO" # transcript
vedetta so "python asyncio event loop"
vedetta papers "sparse autoencoder interpretability"

Seventeen sources: web search, any URL, GitHub, PyPI, npm, crates.io, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, Reddit, YouTube, Wikipedia, OpenAlex, RSS.

Everything it fetches comes back fenced, as data that can never act as instruction. A page an agent reads is a page someone else wrote, and the whole point of reaching the internet is to read things you did not write.

It only reads. It does not post, comment, or write anywhere.

Vetting before trusting: who maintains this library, does it run install scripts, has anyone reported problems with it. That question comes up before every dependency, and answering it by hand is the step that gets skipped.
